Varun Dhawan has been in talks with a number of filmmakers and producers for a possible collaboration over the previous year. While we hear that the actor has been more careful in his selections, we also hear that he has begun a preliminary dialogue with Mohit Suri. Mohit and Varun have been talking about collaborating on an action-packed love storey for the past two months.
“Varun has been a fan of Mohit’s work and he has liked the basic premise of the film. It’s high on action with an intense love story in the backdrop, a space that Varun has not explored till date. With the pandemic uncertainty, Varun is being cautious with the subjects he is green lighting and has asked Mohit to develop the idea into a full bound script,” revealed a source to Pinkvilla.
“While timelines are not in place, it’s being planned as something that can potentially start next year. Mohit will dive into the writing process once he wraps up Ek Villain Returns,” the source added.
In the meantime, Varun has wrapped filming in Mumbai for his horror comedy Bhediya. The film has already progressed into post-production and is set to be released on April 14, 2022. The actor will now focus on finishing the Raj Mehta-directed Jugg Jug Jeeyo, which is also set to debut in 2022. He also has the Sajid Nadiadwala film Sanki, which was scripted by Rajat Arora.
