According to our highly placed sources, Varun Dhawan is all set to reunite with director Shashank Khaitan for the third installment of the Dulhania franchise.
“Varun, Shashank, and Karan Johar have discussed several ideas for Dulhania 3 and have finally locked one. The film is all set to go on floors at the end of 2024 and makers are looking for lead for this biggie.”
The Dulhania franchise is synonymous with Varun and Alia Bhatt, but this time around, the franchise is set to get a makeover with a new actress coming on board. “The film will go on floors by the end of 2024 once Varun Dhawan wraps up shooting for his father, David Dhawan’s next film produced by Ramesh Taurani,” the source told us further.

Janhvi Steps In Alia Bhatt’s Shoes
Last night in latest episode of Koffee With Karan, Karan Johar hinted about one ‘biggie’ while talking to Janhvi Kapoor. Fans have made conjecture that Janhvi Kapoor must be locked as female lead in Shashank Kahitan’s Dulhania franchise opposite Varun.
As per reports in PeepingMoon.com, Alia will not star in Dulhania 3. Instead, Janhvi Kapoor has been brought on board to play a new “Dulhania” opposite Varun. Alia is not returning to the cherished franchise, and while the reason for her absence remains unclear (it could be her busy schedule in 2024), it has benefited Janhvi as she has bagged her first franchise film with this title.
The Dulhania threequel will mark Varun’s and Janhvi’s second collaboration after their endearing on-screen chemistry in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal last year. Though film received mixed reviews.

David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan’s comedy film will go on floors in March, whereas Dulhania film kicks off by year-end.
Varun Dhawan is currently shooting for Murad Khetani’s Theri remake with Wamiqa Gabbi and Keerthi Suresh and will also finish international Amazon show Citadel.
