Vedaa Song ‘Mummy Ji’: Mouni Roy’s Charm FAILS In This Item Number As It Tries Hard To Join The Trend With Hits Like ‘Taras’ & ‘Aaj Ki Raat’

Vedaa song 'Mummy ji' has been dropped by the makers. However, it fails to outshine the recent hit item numbers like 'Aaj Ki Raat' & 'Taras'.

As the release date for Vedaa approaches, the makers have dropped another song from the film. Titled “Mummy Ji,” this item number showcases Mouni Roy attempting to dazzle audiences with her sultry dance moves.

Despite the hype surrounding the film’s impactful trailer, the song seems to have missed the mark in creating the expected buzz.

Mummy Ji Song Review

“Mummy Ji” begins with a rap sequence, followed by Mouni Roy making a grand entrance. She dons a black and red mirror-embellished outfit and dances around a group of intoxicated men.

The song appears to draw inspiration from Malaika Arora’s iconic “Munni Badnaam Hui,” but despite Mouni’s efforts and the melodious voices of Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor, it fails to leave a lasting impression.

The song attempts to ride the wave of popular item numbers, similar to Tamannaah’s “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2 and Sharvari’s “Taras” from Munjya. These songs managed to captivate audiences with their unique dance moves and catchy beats. In contrast, Mouni Roy’s performance in “Mummy Ji” lacks the same impact and originality.

Visually, “Mummy Ji” feels like a rehash of previous item songs such as “Munni Badnaam” and “Chokra Jawaan,” with its depiction of a dancer surrounded by men. This isn’t the first time Mouni has faced criticism for her performances; she previously encountered online trolling for her appearance in the Arabic song “Zaalima.”

The film’s makers shared the song on social media with the caption, “Ignite the heat! #MummyJi ft. @imouniroy is here to set the floor ablaze! SONG OUT NOW!  Get ready to vibe, move, and slay the night away!”

However, when compared to Tamannaah Bhatia’s “Aaj Ki Raat,” Mouni’s “Mummy Ji” pales in comparison.

The music for “Mummy Ji” is composed and written by Manan Bhardwaj, with choreography by Adil Shaikh. Despite the song’s shortcomings, the film itself holds promise with its talented cast and intriguing storyline.

Mouni Roy might do well to stick to roles like her iconic character in Naagin, leaving the item numbers to others.
