Alia Bhatt is one of the most talented and interesting actresses in Bollywood. Starting out in 2021 with Karan Johar‘s Student of the Year, Alia has since evolved as a performer and has proven her mantle as an actress in the industry. She is also known for choosing interesting scripts and collaborating with talented storytellers. Recently, it was announced that she is teaming up with Vasan Bala (the director of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota and Monica O My Darling!) for a project.
Now there is another new update about the film. Vedang Raina, who is making his debut with Zoya Akhtar‘s The Archies, will be teaming up with Alia in Vasan Bala’s film. The film is being produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. Both Karan and Vasan saw the rushes of The Archies and liked Vedang’s performances; they then decided to cast him in the film.
The Film Is About A Prison Break
Vasan is known for his quirky style of direction and telling stories that are off-beat. His upcoming film is currently in the pre-production stage and it is expected to go on floors in the month of September. Next month in August, both Alia Bhatt and Vedang will go through various script reading sessions to get into the characters and have an understanding of the story. It is reportedly based on a prison break and will have an ample amount of action sequences. The film will release in the theatres in the second half of 2024.
Alia’s Upcoming Projects
Alia will be seen in Karan Johar’s directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The romantic drama stars Alia, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi among others. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani will release theatrically on 28 July and both the actors are aggressively promoting the film these days across the nation. She is also making her Hollywood debut with the spy action thriller Heart of Stone, co-starring Gal Gadot. The film is scheduled to be released on 11 August 11 on Netflix. After these two films, she will focus fully on Vasan Bala’s project.
