Actor Rajinikanth, who was last seen in Jailer, is currently shooting for his upcoming Tamil film Vettaiyan. The film is set to hit big screens in October, the makers had announced recently. While the film is one of the much-anticipated projects in Tamil cinema, thanks to the star cast, Rana Daggubati, who plays a pivotal role in the film, spilled some beans about Vettaiyan. Rana Daggubati on Vettaiyan
In a recent interview, Rana Daggubati talked about his upcoming film Vettaiyan and said, “The story is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth garu film but it is amazing that he is doing a film like that. It has a large cast like Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Fahadh Faasil. It is a drama that is interesting. A film between the judiciary, police and entrepreneurial system. It is quite a well-researched story and it is not a regular Rajinikanth film. I am very happy he chose a film like that and I could be part of it.”
About Vettiyan
Vettaiyan is directed by filmmaker TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame in his first-ever collaboration with Rajinikanth. The film is backed by Lyca Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Like Rana Daggubati said, Vettaiyan is a star-studded affair which will feature actors from various industries. Besides Rajinikanth, Vettaiyan includes actors Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, GM Sundar, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan and others.
Touted to be an action thriller drama, Rajinikanth is expected to play a cop in the film. A release date for Vettaiyan is expected to be announced closer to the release. The film is shot by cinematographer SR Kathir I.S.C, with Philomin Raj handling the edits. The stunts are planned by Anbariv duo and K Kadhir is the production designer. Vettaiyan is Rajinikanth’s 170th film. Up next, he will be working with Lokesh Kanagaraj in Coolie.
