Vicky Kaushal, who has impressed the audience with his performances in films like ‘Uri’, ‘Raazi‘ and ‘Udham Singh‘, is all set to play another challenging role in his upcoming film ‘Chhava‘. The actor will portray the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and a brave Maratha warrior who fought against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
Vicky Kaushal’s Physical preparation in Chhava
According to a report in Dainik Bhaskar, Vicky is undergoing a massive physical transformation for the role. He has been asked to gain weight up to 116 kg to look like Sambhaji Raje, who was known for his muscular physique. Vicky, who weighed 75 kg before, has started following a strict diet and workout regime to achieve the desired look. He is also learning sword fighting and horse riding to prepare for the action sequences in the film.
Vicky Kaushal, who is known for his dedication and hard work, has been giving his best for the film. However, he has also been facing some challenges due to the intense action scenes. He has been suffering from muscle pain and could not attend the rehearsal sessions with the action team. He will meet them directly on the set in Wai. Sources also say that Vicky has been working with 1500 to 2000 junior artists and 150 to 200 horses in every scene that involves the fight between the Marathas and the Mughals.

‘Chhava‘ is being directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film is said to be a grand spectacle with a huge budget and a star-studded cast. Akshaye Khanna will play the role of Aurangzeb, who was the main antagonist of Sambhaji Raje. The film will showcase the epic battle between the Marathas and the Mughals, which changed the course of Indian history.
The shooting of the film is currently underway in various locations. The makers have created a lavish set of Mughalia Darbar in Dahisar, where the fight sequence between the Marathas and the Mughals will soon be shot. The film will also feature scenes from Burhanpur, the financial capital of the Mughals, which has been recreated in Mud Island. The next schedule of the film will take place in Wai, where a lake area will be used to depict the war zone. The film is expected to wrap up by June this year.
Chhava’s Action scale
‘Chhava‘ is the fifth action genre film of Vicky Kaushal’s career. Sources associated with the film say that the scale of its action is being designed to match the action of ‘RRR‘ and ‘Baahubali‘. That’s why two action directors have been hired. Firstly, the action team of Netflix’s much talked about series ‘Marco Polo‘ was hired. That team is from Korea. Parvez Shaikh was given command for this work from India.
Vicky Kaushal to get play negative lead in Animal Park?
Meanwhile, there is another buzz about Vicky Kaushal in the industry. As per the same report in Dainik Bhaskar, he is being considered for a negative role in ‘Animal Park’, a dark thriller starring Ranbir Kapoor, sequel to blockbuster Animal. The film, which is being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by Bhushan Kumar, will feature Ranbir in a double role. One of them will be Aziz Haq, a terrorist who is cloned and becomes like Ranbir. Vicky may be offered to play the original Aziz Haq, who had a different face. Shahid Kapoor’s name is also being discussed for this role. If Vicky gets locked for this film, it will be his first film where he will be in a negative shade. However, if Karan Johar’s ‘Takht‘ had been made, it would have been Vicky’s first film with a negative shade.
