Following the success of Shakuntala Devi: The Human Computer in December 2020, Abundantia Entertainment’s producer Vikram Malhotra announced a murder mystery with the film’s director, Anu Menon. The film was set to begin production in April or May 2021, but was pushed back indefinitely after the second wave of the fatal COVID-19 epidemic halted production. Now that the production is back on track, and we hear that Malhotra has enlisted the help of two major actors to direct the yet-to-be-titled gripping thriller.
According to industry sources close to Peepingmoon, Vidya Balan and Neetu Kapoor will star in Anu Menon’s next film, which would be set in London. Vidya and Neetu will be travelling into a completely different horizon in this film, which is yet another drama anchored by strong female characters. Although the plot and character details of the film are unknown at this time, we’ve heard it deals with a difficult issue and confronts India’s dysfunctional customs. The film is set primarily on London’s streets and will begin filming in March or April 2022, depending on the COVID scenario.
Vidya’s fourth collaboration with Vikram Malhotra in the last two years is this murder mystery. They previously collaborated on the Shakuntala Devi biography, Sherni, a human-wildlife narrative, and Jalsa, a social thriller currently in post-production and set for an Amazon Prime Video direct-to-digital release. After Dharma Productions’ Jug Jugg Jeeyo, which marked her acting comeback after nine years, this will be Neetu Kapoor’s second Hindi feature of the year.
