Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh to give up their fees for Jana Gana Mana To Pay Distributors For Liger’s failure

Many believe Liger fell prey to the Boycott trend that has been going on for films. One can only hope that the Liger team comes out of this problem stronger.

Produced under the banner of Karan Johar-led Dharma productions, Liger movie starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Pandey crashed at the box office affecting the lives of many involved from shooting crew to distribution as it suffered losses without crossing even Rs 50 crore, currently at Rs 16.5 crore.

Boxing legend Mike Tyson made debut in Liger. He was paid more than the lead actors performing in it as per media reports. Given its situation, Vijay and Puri Jagannadh have decided to relinquish their salaries for Jana Gana Mana, which will be used to compensate Liger’s buyers’ losses.

If reports are to be believed, an enormous amount worth 100 crore was spent as part of the budget to make this movie. Exhibitors acquired the Liger rights considering Vijay’s popularity in the industry. They’ve been demanding compensation from the makers for the loss they have incurred after its release.
