Vijay Deverakonda Sparks A Pan-India Dream At WAVES 2025: Envisions A SRK–Allu Arjun Collaboration To Unite Indian Cinema

At WAVES 2025, Vijay Deverakonda delivers a stirring statement, advocating for cross-industry unity and suggesting a mega-collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun to elevate Indian cinema to global dominance.

At the WAVES Summit 2025, the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit held in New Delhi, Vijay Deverakonda was the showstopper—not for a film announcement, but for an ambition. Standing onstage with the global leaders in content and cinema influencers in attendance, the Liger star encapsulated what so many cinephiles have fantasised about: a collaboration featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Allu Arjun that puts Indian cinema on the forefront of a global platform.

“If we have to take on the giants of the world, we need to collaborate. Like both Shah Rukh Khan sir’s and Allu Arjun anna’s films did ₹1000 crore… now imagine if they collaborate. Two biggest stars from North & South to unite the country,” Deverakonda said at the summit. Vijay Deverakonda at WAVES 2025

A Call for Unity: From Regional Strengths to Global Vision

Deverakonda’s comment, delivered during a fireside chat at WAVES 2025, resonated with audiences present in the room and those watching through digital streams. It came at a time when Indian films such as Jawan, featuring SRK, and Pushpa 2, featuring Allu Arjun, are shattering box office norms and proving that Indian narratives can cut through geographies with talent and ambition behind them.

The notion of uniting the cinema community echoes a greater topical theme of WAVES 2025—an invite-only event organised with the backing of the Indian government, organised to showcase India as the next content capital to the world. One of the running threads of PM Narendra Modi’s theme of extending India’s soft power via cinema was promoted by Deverakonda’s fiery commentary.

The Legacy of ₹1000 Cr Blockbusters

Both Jawan and the much-hyped Pushpa 2: The Rule are films that not only dominated the domestic box office but also gained massive traction internationally. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan grossed approximately ₹1,148.32 crore worldwide, comfortably crossing the ₹1,100 crore mark. Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 has performed exceptionally well, with global earnings reported to be between ₹1,642 crore and ₹1,800 crore.

A union of these two megastars would be historic—and potentially necessary for India’s global cultural export.

The Fan Response: “We Manifest This Collab!”

Once Deverakonda’s quote caught fire, fan accounts flooded social media with imaginary posters, casting suggestions and enthusiastic responses:

“This could change the industry forever. North + South = Global!”
“We manifest this collab. SRK x AA = ₹2000 cr loading…”
“One frame. Two legends. India wins!”

What It Means for the Industry

More than just a fanciful comment, Deverakonda’s quote has sparked industry-wide discussion. Pan-India films are becoming a norm, and crossover cinema is the future, and such a union would not only excite fans but also be equally beneficial as a massive economic value.

It is also a message to stakeholders—producers, streamers, and studios—that talent collaboration can be a more potent force than franchise expansion.
What if the next cinematic universe is not one story but one country?
