Vijay Fame Sonam Talks About Her Plans To Return To The Industry After A 30-Year Hiatus, Says ‘The Industry Was Very….’

She has made the decision to return to the entertainment business nevertheless, now that she has moved back to the city.

Actress Sonam from Bollywood, who starred in movies like Vijay, Tridev, and Vishwatma, talked about her intentions to return to the industry. The actress has spent more than three decades away from the business. The actress had left India after being married to the director Rajiv Rai and taking into account the hitmen’s attempt on his life. She has made the decision to return to the entertainment business nevertheless, now that she has moved back to the city. The actress made the decision to be open and honest in an interview with ETimes about her future goals for the business.

Sonam mentioned leaving Bollywood in her conversation, “I quit films at a very young age as I got married and then, had to leave India for personal reasons. I really don’t know what was going on in my mind at that time. I wanted to have a family. I think I was too young to realize the ramifications. I was only seventeen-and-half then. I was too naive.” For those who are unaware, Rajiv Rai and Sonam split up in 2016.

The actress continued by admitting that although she had moved more than five years prior, the pandemic had put a stop to her plans to make a comeback. “I had slipped into the city about five years ago. Actually, I wanted to come out three years ago, but COVID threw a spanner,” she added.
The actress made the choice after realising how much she missed working in the field. “The industry was very supportive of me. They made me feel very important and happy. I have no big regrets, no big complaints.”

She did acknowledge that she regrets passing on a select few offers, though.“I was offered Baaghi as the female lead opposite Salman Khan. And I refused Lootere (with Sunny Deol) too. I had decided to start a new life. I was getting married. But I wish I had done Baaghi. I have a lot of respect for Salman Khan and I am a big fan of his.” Readers may remember that Sonam appeared in a lot of multi-star movies. In reality, Meenakshi Seshadri and she shared the heroine title when Yash Chopra introduced her in Vijay. openly discussing her interactions with her female co-stars.

In relation to her “return to B-town,” the actress also has a vision for the future.“I have lived in the UK and US, globe-trotted actually. It’s my second innings. And, as my Instagram handle says, I was lost and I am now found again. I want to meet new people now and work with them. I feel I still have a lot to learn. And, I am willing to learn. I didn’t keep in touch with the industry. I wish I had. I want to work with Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Pandey, and Vishal Bhardwaj. I love their style of filmmaking. And I want to do web shows; I love OTT; I consume a lot of content in OTT space.”
