Vikas Bahl Locks Siddhant Chaturvedi And Alizeh Agnihotri For Tribe, Shoot Begins In September

Vikas Bahl is lining up another ambitious feature, this time with music, romance, and a strong cultural setting at its core. The filmmaker has locked Siddhant Chaturvedi and Alizeh Agnihotri for Tribe, a new musical drama backed by Reliance Entertainment. The film is set to go on floors in September in the UK.

Tribe is said to be inspired by the rise of bhangra-fusion pop in the UK during the 1990s. For an entire generation, UK Punjabi music represented far more than entertainment, it became a form of rebellion wrapped in rhythm, seamlessly blending traditional Punjabi folk sounds with Western musical styles. Set in the 1990s, the film captures the momentum when the post-immigrant generation, with one foot in the UK and the other in Punjab, began experimenting with new sounds and infusing them with their own distinctive flavour, creating an electrifying cross-cultural sound that got audiences of every age onto the dance floor.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment, the film is described as a love story unfolding against a vibrant cultural backdrop, exploring romance, ambition and identity while capturing what is regarded as a golden era for UK Punjabi music. Although earlier speculation linked the project to a remake of the Hollywood film CODA, sources have confirmed that it is an original script. Siddhant will play the role of a drummer, while Alizeh will portray a singer.

That makes Tribe more than just Bahl’s next set announcement, it also adds a fresh tonal shift to a director currently balancing multiple films at different stages.

Vikas Bahl’s Busy 2027 Lineup

While Tribe begins production in September 2026, Bahl’s broader slate is already moving toward 2027. The director has completed shooting for Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, a romantic comedy starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jaya Bachchan. He has also wrapped Queen Forever, led by Kangana Ranaut and positioned as a sequel to Queen.

With those two films already shot and Tribe only now heading into production, the timelines are clearly split between completed projects and the next one going on floors. Tribe is expected to be shot largely in the UK and is targeting a theatrical release in mid-2027, placing it among Bahl’s key titles for that year.

Production Details And Cast

Produced by Reliance Entertainment, Tribe brings together Siddhant and Alizeh in one of the more unusual young-pairing setups currently in development in Hindi cinema. The film’s UK schedule is expected to cover the bulk of principal photography, with the makers planning to wrap the project by the end of the year.

The project also marks Siddhant’s second collaboration with Bahl after Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling. For Alizeh, it serves as a significant follow-up film, giving her a music-led romantic drama as her next major big-screen step.

Siddhant Chaturvedi And Alizeh Agnihotri’s Recent And Upcoming Work

Siddhant was last seen in box office disaster Do Deewane Seher Mein in 2026, after another flop Yudhra in 2024 and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan in 2023, which premiered on Netflix. Across these releases, he has moved between urban relationship dramas and theatrical star vehicles, while continuing to build a varied mainstream profile. Among his confirmed upcoming films, Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling remains a major title in his lineup.

Alizeh made her debut with flop film Farrey, which released theatrically on November 24, 2023. As of August 25, 2026, Tribe stands as her next confirmed feature film and a clear tonal departure from her launch project, placing her in a musical romance mounted on a larger and more performance-driven scale.
