Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has been making headlines again, this time due to a casting rumour that dragged Vikrant Massey into the conversation. Over the last few days, chatter on social media and entertainment circles claimed that Massey was part of the ambitious mythological drama and was later replaced by Raghav Juyal.
The speculation gained momentum because Ramayana is one of the biggest upcoming Hindi films, mounted on a large scale and backed by a star heavy ensemble. With casting updates closely tracked by fans, even unconfirmed claims can snowball quickly. Massey has now addressed the noise directly, making it clear where he stands.
Vikrant Massey Issues Instagram Clarification
Vikrant Massey posted an Instagram Story responding to the claims, calling out the coverage and denying that he was ever signed for Ramayana. In his latest Story, the actor wrote, ” Ok. To put the rumours to rest. I never was a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan. The many media portals reporting about my supposed “replacement” should’ve done the requisite background check. Disappointing. Nonetheless, wishing everyone a part of the movie all the very best. Love.”
Massey’s statement addresses two key points: first, he says he was never part of the film, and second, that the idea of him being “replaced” does not arise. The actor also ended his note on a gracious tone by wishing the team well.

Why His Name Got Linked To Ramayana In The First Place
The rumour trail began with speculation that Vikrant Massey could be playing Meghanad, also known as Indrajit, widely known in the epic as Ravana’s formidable son. Around the same time, online chatter suggested that Raghav Juyal had stepped in for the role.
With Massey now denying any association with the project, the narrative of a replacement appears to be based on unverified assumptions rather than official announcements.
What We Know About Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana So Far
Ramayana is being developed as a two part theatrical saga, retelling the Indian mythological epic on a blockbuster scale. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravana, with Sai Pallavi set to play Sita. Sunny Deol has been announced as Lord Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey is set to portray Lakshman.
The two part release plan has also been widely discussed, with the films slated for Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027. Several additional roles are yet to be officially confirmed by the makers, which is also why speculation around the cast continues to surface.
