Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor were among the celebrities who attended the opening ceremony of the 141st International Olympic Committee (IOC) session in Mumbai on Saturday. The event, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saw the presence of several eminent sports personalities and dignitaries.
Deepika and Shah Rukh, who were last seen together in Pathaan and Jawan, looked sharp as they sat next to each other at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC). They were seen listening intently to the PM’s keynote address and also sharing a light moment with smiles on their faces. Both the actors were dressed in formal outfits, with Deepika opting for a grey checkered suit and Shah Rukh donning a black suit.
Alia and Ranbir, who recently tied the knot, also graced the event in their traditional attires. They were seen sitting behind Deepika and Shah Rukh, but one of their candid photos caught the attention of netizens. In the picture, Alia appeared to be dozing off while Ranbir was busy with his phone. The photo went viral on Reddit, where users commented on their expressions and behaviour.

Netizens create meme fest after catching Alia taking a nap
“Everyone is bored… Alia is literally asleep… Don’t even blame her. I would too. And Shah Rukh and Deepika have both aced the professional but idc (I don’t care) look,” one user wrote. Another joked, “Alia is sleeping without a care in the world, Ranbir lost in phone like a true backbencher, Shah Rukh pretending to give full attention, but his mind is wandering somewhere else most probably, while Deepika is giving serious Hermione Granger vibes (Emma Watson’s Harry Potter character).”
Some also suggested that the photo could be turned into a meme template. Praising Deepika, a person wrote, “I have to say, DP always maintains a straight face. Never seen her making weird expressions even behind the camera. Prim and proper.”

The IOC session is being held in India after a gap of 40 years. The session serves as a key meeting of the members of the IOC, where important decisions regarding the future of the Olympic games are made. India had previously hosted the 86th session in New Delhi in 1983.
