At a whopping ₹400 crore production cost, Ayan Mukerji’s directorial debut, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is preparing for an exhilarating nationwide teaser release—with the IPL 2025 Final!
Industry sources said that War 2 will drop its next major promo on May 30 during the IPL finale, utilising prime time ad placements during the actual innings and during breaks — India’s most valuable television real estate.

The campaign with a teaser launch of War 2 was previously released on NTR’s birthday, which went viral across several social media platforms and Telugu territories. Now, YRF is launching a tactical campaign with the purpose of taking advantage of IPL’s national platform and exposure to ignite the film’s national buzz.
Aditya Chopra is said to have speeded up and fast-tracked this promotional blitz to maximise excitement and engagement during IPL events. The promo will escalate the reveal of Hrithik Roshan’s showdown with NTR’s unidentified antagonist, who are sure to have a brilliant day — and fans are anticipating the ultimate face-off of the year.
YRF’s Costliest Film Yet at ₹400 Crore!
As per pegged industry announcements, War 2 is YRF’s costliest film to date, as per genre, exceeding even Pathaan and Tiger 3. With global-scale action sequences, international action schedules, and a visual extravaganza that has never been seen before in Bollywood, War 2 has been conceived as a pan-India event film.
YRF’s IPL deal is just part 1 of their long-lead plan. The full theatrical trailer — which is said to lean towards drama, especially Kiara Advani’s role — will be dropped closer to its release on August 14, 2025.
