Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has joined Global Citizen’s VAX LIVE: The Concert To Reunite The World concert, followed by Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Pope Francis, and US President Joe Biden and others. Mr Bachchan on Sunday requested the world to help India in fighting the deadly second wave of coronavirus, through a virtual event Vax Live.
The concert was hosted by Selena Gomez while Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Vedder, Foo Fighters, J Balvin, & H.E.R., performed at the VAX LIVE. The concert was tapped earlier before an audience of vaccinated frontline healthcare & essential workers at SoFi Stadium and aired on May 8 (Sunday, May 9 for India).

Amitabh Bachchan sent his video from India and emphasized the importance of vaccines. “Namaskar, this is Amitabh Bachchan. My country India is battling with the sudden surge of the second wave of Covid 19. As a global citizen, I appeal to all global citizens to rise up, speak to your governments, pharmaceutical companies and ask them to donate, to give, to extend a helping hand, to the public that needs it the most. Every effort counts. As Mahatma Gandhiji said: ‘In a gentle way you can shake the world’. thank you,” he said in the video.
