Shah Rukh Khan, the king of romance, attended a special screening of the film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in Mumbai on Sunday, along with his co-star Rani Mukerji and director Karan Johar, to celebrate the silver jubilee of the iconic film.
The special screening was a huge success as the tickets were sold out within minutes of opening. The fans were thrilled to watch the film on the big screen again and relive the magic of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film was shown on three screens in Mumbai at PVR INOX theatre and the tickets were priced at just Rs 25.

Shah Rukh Khan says on love stories like KKHH, “Ab jawan bacchon ko karne do”
Talking at the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai screening, Shah Rukh said, “Is film ka humare liye bahut hi important makaam hai humari zindagi mein, humare dilo mein. Aap log thoda bahut samajhte ho, pura nahi samjhoge kyunki kuch kuch hota hai (this film is a very important milestone in our lives and in our hearts. You people understand this to some extent but you cannot understand it fully because there is something that happens).”
Speaking about his upcoming plan, he further said, “Ab pata nahi love story karu ya nahi karu, ab Jawan bachcho ko karne do (now I don’t know if I should still do a love story, let’s leave them for younger actors).” The audience reacted to Shah Rukh’s statement with a loud roar.
The video was showered with several laughing emojis and heart emojis in the comments section. Reacting to the video, a fan wrote, “Jawan bacchon se ho nahi raha, aap hi karo maalik (youngsters are not able to do it, you only can do it)!” Another said, “You are the Jawan the OG the forever.”

Shah Rukh Khan said, “I would like to thank Reema ji who is not with us now. Farida Jalal of course, we all love her, and Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh and a lot of other actors who I may have forgotten to mention.” When crowd remined him of Salman Khan, he said, “vo interval ke baad aayega. Abhi interval tak speech nahi hui hai meri (He will come after interval, I’ve not yet reached interval in my speech).”
Everyone laughed at this. SRK further said, “Rani ko bhi tab mention karunga jab woh bhoot banke aayegi end mein. So, yes yes, I’d like to thank Salman bhai and Rani who came as a ghost in the end again and all the little kids who were there in the film.”
He then thanked Salman Khan and jokingly Rani Mukerji, who appeared as a ghost in the end of the film, along with other actors such as Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal and Archana Puran Singh.
“This Film Has Stood The Test Of Time”: Shah Rukh Khan
At the screening, SRK spoke about how the film has stood the test of time. “I have a son who is 25 years old now, and now that I look back upon it, I feel very happy and proud that I launched a young son like Karan Johar because I was a little more established than he was. I am thankful to Yash Johar and Hiroo aunty to back that decision and we got a film like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.”

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was Karan Johar‘s directorial debut and was released on October 16, 1998. The film was a blockbuster hit and won several awards, including eight Filmfare Awards. The film is considered as one of the most popular and influential films of Indian cinema.
The film tells the story of Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), Anjali (Kajol) and Tina (Rani Mukerji), who are college friends and have a love triangle. Rahul marries Tina, who dies after giving birth to their daughter. Eight years later, Rahul’s daughter tries to reunite her father with Anjali, who is still in love with him.
The film is known for its memorable dialogues, songs and fashion trends. The film also featured appearances by Neelam Kothari, Sana Saeed, Parzaan Dastur and Reema Lagoo.
The special screening of the film was organized by Dharma Productions and was attended by hundreds of fans who got to watch the film for just Rs 25. Karan Johar also shared a picture of himself wearing a sweatshirt with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai printed on it on his Instagram account.
