Weekend Watchlist: Check Out These New OTT Releases To Binge This Weekend!

Top releases to watch this weekend are Faadu, Kantara, Doctor G, Blurr

OTT (Over-the-top) is leading in India with a shift to digital space from theatres, especially post COVID-19 pandemic. It gives consumers flexibility to watch it anytime and anywhere with commercial breaks coming as ads in between it. Undoubtedly, Indians enjoy OTT by binge watching movies or series.

Here are top releases to watch this weekend:

  • Faadu

The web-series released on December 9 stars Pavail Gulati, Saiyami Kher, Abhilash Thapliyal. Gulati portrays the character of Abhay who is concerned with the idea of leaving behind this journey of poverty, making swift ways of minting money prior to meeting an adverse event in life. Saiyami acts as a ladylove Manjiri, who acknowledges Abhay and discovers poetry in adversities. She comes from a fine Konkan family and has been born to a homely mother and a postmaster father. The deep poetic love story between two opposite characters streams on Sonyliv.

 

  • Kantara

Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kirgandur, Kantara (which refers to forest in Sanskrit) stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Thuminad and Achyuth Kumar in leading roles. It was released into five languages, namely Kannada, Hindu, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam in theatres. On Amazon, it was released in four regional languages. Now, it streams on Netflix in Hindi from December 9.

 

  • Blurr

Helmed by Ajay Bahl and produced by Zee Studios, Echelon Productions, Outsider Films,  Blurr stars Taapsee and Gulshan Devaiah. The psychological thriller is written by Pawan Sony and Ajay Bahl. It’s Taapsee’s first production, which has been released on ZEE5 in Hindi on December 9.

 

  • Doctor G

Anubhuti Kashyap directed Doctor G stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Shefali Shah, Sheeba Chaddha. It is produced by Junglee Pictures. Ayushmann plays Dr. Uday Gupta, whereas Rakul Preet acts as a medical student named Dr. Fatima Dugg. Shefali Shah plays Dr Nandini Bhatia. The comedy drama streams on Netflix from December 11.
