‘What You Have Seen Is Actually Part 2, Part 1 Will Come Next Year’: Rishab Shetty Confirms On 100th Day Celebration Of The Film Kantara 2 To Have A Prequel

He stated that the prequel will be a lavish film and is in the process of scripting Kantara 2.

Directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kirgandur, Kantara (which refers to forest in Sanskrit) stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Thuminad and Achyuth Kumar in leading roles. It released on September 30 into five languages, namely Kannada, Hindu, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam.

The latest Kannada news is that Kantara will have a sequel as per Rishab Shetty. Audiences appreciated the film’s direction, screenplay, music and performances. It is a visual grandeur that energises the traditional culture of Kambla and Bhootha Kola. It was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 16 cr and collected more than 400 crores worldwide. He stated that the prequel will be a lavish film and is in the process of scripting Kantara 2.

“We are very pleased and thankful to the audience who had shown immense love and support to Kantara. With the blessing of almighty Daiva, the film has successfully completed 100 days and I would like to take this opportunity to announce the prequel of Kantara,” Indian Express quoted Rishab as saying.

“What you have seen is actually Part 2, Part 1 will come next year. The idea flashed into my mind while I was shooting for Kantara because the history of Kantara has more depth to it. Currently, we are in the middle of digging into more details. As the research is still underway, it would be very early to reveal details about the film,” he added.
