Prabhas misses the Japan premiere of Kalki 2898 AD due to an ankle injury but thanks fans with a heartfelt message.

Actor Prabhas has shared some sad news with his fans. The actor, who was all set to attend the Japan premiere of Kalki 2898 AD, announced that he won’t be able to make it due to an injury. The sci-fi epic, directed by Nag Ashwin, was a huge hit in India and is now ready to wow Japanese audiences during Shogatsu, the Japanese New Year.

In a heartfelt social media post, Prabhas thanked fans for the love his film has received internationally. He also expressed his sadness about missing the chance to visit Japan, something he had been excited about. 

“Thank you for always showering so much love on me and my work. I had been looking forward to going to Japan for a long time. However, I am very sorry to say that I sprained my ankle during filming and was unable to attend,” Prabhas wrote.

He also appreciated the efforts of the film’s Japanese distributor, Twin, for bringing Kalki 2898 AD to audiences overseas. Prabhas ended his message by saying he hopes to visit Japan soon.

The actor reportedly injured his ankle while working on his upcoming film Fauji, a war drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Although Prabhas won’t attend the premiere, fans will still get to see director Nag Ashwin represent the film at the event.

Kalki 2898 AD is creating buzz as it releases during Japan’s festive season. The film’s striking visuals and gripping story are expected to leave a lasting impression, further strengthening Prabhas’ international fanbase.

Prabhas’ Work Front

Prabhas has a packed lineup of projects. His war drama Fauji is scheduled to release in late 2025. Fans are also looking forward to Salaar 2, the sequel to his 2023 hit. Alongside this, he will star in Spirit, an ambitious project by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and make a special cameo in Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa.

Though his absence from the Japan premiere is disappointing, Prabhas’ fans are eager to see him shine in his upcoming roles.
