Salman Khan is back in the headlines, but not for a film. The Bollywood superstar has received another death threat, which is the fifth one in the past two years. This has raised fresh concerns about his safety.
The threat came as a WhatsApp message to the Mumbai Traffic Police helpline. The sender claimed they would enter Salman’s house and “blow up his car with a bomb.” Salman lives with his family at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai.
FIR Filed Over Fresh Death Threat To Salman Khan
The police filed an FIR against unknown persons at Worli Police Station. They have started investigating and are trying to trace the source of the message.
This isn’t the first time someone has threatened Salman. His name got linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Since then, threats have increased. In 2023, men connected to Bishnoi’s gang fired shots outside his house. There were also reports that gang members kept watch on his Panvel farmhouse and planned an attack.
Lawrence Bishnoi has openly spoken against Salman. His anger goes back to the blackbuck poaching case from the late ’90s. Blackbucks are sacred to the Bishnoi community. Lawrence wants Salman to go to Rajasthan and apologise. “If not, he will be killed,” Lawrence had said. But the court has already dismissed the case against Salman.
Salman’s security has been tight since last year. Still, the latest threats have made fans and industry people uneasy again.
Salman’s Work Front
The actor was last seen in Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. The film was released on Eid and had high expectations. But it didn’t perform as well as expected. It failed to cross Rs 150 crore in India even after two weeks.
Though the figures are okay, they don’t match Salman’s usual box office numbers and also fail to recover the budget. The collections saw a heavy decline after a few days due to negative word-of-mouth and a piracy scandal.
