Writer Vishwas Patil Files Law Suit On Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat

It seems Ashutosh Gowariker is in trouble for his film Panipat. According to the reports Marathi writer Mr. Vishwas Patil well known for his novel Panipat as Panipatkar has filed a commercial IP Suite GB GB (1247of 2019), in Mumbai High Court against the release of the film.

Patil mentioned Ashutosh Gowariker, Rohit Shelatkar, Sunita Gowariker and Reliance Entertainment in the suit for injunction and compensation.

According to the complaint Patil claims that the major essence, characters, and portion of the film have been stolen from his book without Mr. Patil’s permission and approval.

Patil was awarded Sahitya Academy Award in 1992. His other novels ‘Mahanayak’ and ‘A Dirge for the Damned’ (Zadazadti), are critically acclaimed.

Panipat is scheduled to release in theatres on 6 December 2019.
