In 2014, actress and filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar came up with the coming-of-age romance film Yaariyan. It marked her directorial debut as well as the Bollywood debut of Rakul Preet Singh and Himansh Kohli. Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, it went on to become a major commercial success.
After nearly a decade, Divya has come up with its much-awaited sequel titled Yaariyan 2. This time, the film is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under the T-Series banner, as well as Aayush Maheshwari.
Yaariyan 2 Teaser Out Now
After much anticipation, the official teaser of Yaariyan 2 dropped on the internet today. The two-minute and 22-second long teaser generates enough excitement with some interesting glimpses without giving away much of the plot of the film. In the video, we see how various characters, played by Divya Khosla Kumar, Yash Dasgupta, Meezan Jafri and Pearl V Puri go through different emotions of love, fun, and friendship. Overall, the video manages to generate excitement for the film and its upcoming trailer without explaining the storyline.

Yaariyan 2 Poster Dropped Recently
Yaariyan 2 has a totally different star cast compared to the first installment. Divya Khosla Kumar, who helmed the first film, is starring in this one. Recently, the makers dropped a poster of the film and in it, Divya is in a bride’s outfit and is seen smoking a cigarette. She’s put her hands on the shoulders of the two actors, Meezan Jafri and Pearl V Puri. The poster also featured the line, “Cousin by blood, friend by chance.”

Yaariyan 2 stars Divya Khosla Kumar, Meezan Jafri and Pearl V Puri in the lead roles. Debutant Yash Dasgupta, Anaswara Rajan, Priya Prakash Varrier, Warina Hussain, and Lillete Dubey also appear in pivotal roles. The film is a remake of the 2014 Malayalam film Bangalore Days directed by Anjali Menon. Apart from Yash, it is also the debut film of Pearl and Anaswara, who have worked in television and regional films respectively. All these interesting names have helped the film in generating a lot of hype. Yaariyan 2 is slated to release on 20 October this year.
