Yami Gautam & Sunny Kaushal roped in Amar Kaushik’s Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga

While Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga will be resurrected, Amar Kaushik will no longer be directing it.

Amar Kaushik was working on a thriller named Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga in 2017, with John Abraham and Rajkummar Rao in the major roles. It was meant to be Kaushik’s directorial debut. The project, however, failed to take off after John dropped out due to creative differences. After Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor, the film’s producers, pulled out, the project was shelved. Kaushik was also working on another film and made his directorial debut in 2018 with the horror comedy Stree.

Now, the director is returning to his first project four years later. The director is remaking Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga with a new cast and crew. According to sources of Peepingmoon, Yami Gautam and Sunny Kaushal have been cast in the key roles in this reimagined version of the film, which was written by Siraj Ahmed. Ahmed is claimed to have made changes to the earlier written material to make it more relevant in today’s world.

While Chor Nikal Ke Bhaaga will be resurrected, Amar Kaushik will no longer be directing it. Kaushik will only serve as a creative producer on this film, with Ajay Singh, better known as Ajax, taking over as director. Ajax previously directed the Amazon Prime Horror Comedy series Shaitaan Haveli (2018).

To support this thriller centred on a diamond robbery, Kaushik is teaming up with his favourite producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films. They’ve completed the cast and crew, and they’ll start filming next month.
