The makers of KGF: Chapter 2 recently unveiled the teaser of the film. As soon as the teaser was released it crossed several million views on the internet.
However, putting a speedbreaker to the excitement the film falls into trouble. According to the reports the Karnataka Health department has sent a notice to actor Yash and the team over a scene in the teaser.
The teaser had a smoking scene without any statutory warning. Hence, the Health department had accused the KGF team of promoting smoking through the teaser. The Health department’s notice said that it is mandatory to issue a statutory warning with the words, “Smoking is injurious to health.”
However, the makers failed to add the warning in the teaser and the posters. The notice even asked the Yash to remove the teaser from YouTube and other social media platforms.
The notice read, “Both the teaser and the posters encourage cigarette smoking. Yash, you are a heart-throb and you have an immense fan following. Your actions should not mislead the youngsters. We want you to join our campaign against cigarette smoking.”
As per ther reports the Karnataka State Anti-Tobacco Cell, in their letter to the Health department wrote that the scene had violated Section 5 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) 2003, also referred to as COTPA 2003.
However, the cell didn’t aske the makers to delete the scene from the film.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj and Malavika Avinash.
