A voice in a teaser turned into the center of a very public controversy, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub has now drawn a firm line between himself and Chauhaan. What began as a brief voice-over contribution, recorded months earlier without fuller context, quickly became an issue once the promo went public and the actor objected to how that line had been used.
In his statement, Ayyub wrote, “Few weeks back, a film teaser released with the opening line in my voice.” He added, “I wish to put on record that I am not part of the film in any capacity.” The actor further said, “I was asked to dub a line without any reference a few months back. I did that in good faith without asking for more as I knew the makers personally.”
Zeeshan Ayyub Explains Why He Asked For Its Removal
Ayyub’s statement directly addressed why he objected to the teaser after it went public. He wrote, “As soon as the teaser was released and I saw the context in which it was (mis)used, I asked the filmmakers to remove my voice from the teaser as I have nothing to do with the film.” He added, “After my strong objection, the makers removed my voice from the teaser fifteen days ago.”
He also made it clear that his objection was not merely about credit, but about principle. In the same note, he wrote, “Though this will clarify my position as an artist who would never be a part of any such project, our entire attention should be on the present situation of the country where our young relentless students are on the streets putting up a brave fight. Kudos to their inspiring spirit. JAI HIND, JAI SAMVIDHAN.”
That final line gave the clarification a larger political and personal context, turning it into more than a routine industry disclaimer. For Ayyub, whose screen persona and public interventions have often reflected a sharply defined ideological position, the statement landed as both a professional clarification and a personal position.
Chauhaan And Its Current Status
The original teaser for Chauhaan was released on June 25, 2026, and a revised version later appeared on YouTube with Ayyub’s opening voice removed. The updated cut also carried another visible change in dialogue, with a rank reference altered in the teaser.
With the promo now revised, attention shifts back to the film itself. Chauhaan stars Ajay Devgn and remains unreleased as of July 22, 2026. The film is directed by Neeraj Yadav and backed by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions, with Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma attached as producers. Current entertainment listings place its release on October 1, 2027, keeping the project on course even as its teaser rollout has already sparked a fierce early debate.
