Puneeth Rajkumar, the iconic Kannada power actor, died of a heart attack on Friday morning, October 29, 2021. He was transported to Bengaluru’s Vikram Hospital after complaining of chest trouble. He was 46 years old at the time.
His celebrity friends and followers flocked to social media shortly after the tragic news surfaced, expressing their sympathies to his family. Puneeth Rajkumar’s death ceremonies are currently taking place in Bengaluru, and his mortal remains will be laid to rest next his father, the legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar.
His mortal remains will be on display until Saturday evening at Kanteerava Stadium. Thousands of people from all around the state have flocked to pay their respects to their favourite celebrity. An avalanche of his fans and followers flocked to the stadium this morning to say their final goodbyes to their idol.
He was the son of late matinee idol Rajkumar and Parvathamma, and was affectionately known as ‘Appu’ by his fans.
Puneeth Rajkumar began his career as a child actor in films such as Premada Kanike (1976) and Aarathi in the 1970s and 1980s. He received critical acclaim for his performances in Vasantha Geetha (1980), Bhagyavantha (1981), Chalisuva Modagalu (1982), Eradu Nakshatragalu (1983), Bhakta Prahaladha, Yarivanu, and Bettada Hoovu (1985).
