On Thursday, Dhanush’s 44th film, Thiruchitrambalam, began shooting in Chennai with a puja ceremony. At the premiere, the cast and crew were in attendance.
Sun Pictures, the production company, used social media to share photos from the puja and wrote, “@dhanushkraja’s #D44 shooting commences Today!”

Mithran R Jawahar is the director for Thiruchitrambalam. After Yaaradi Mohini, Kutty, and Uthamaputhiran, this is Mithran’s fourth collaboration with Dhanush for Sun Pictures.
Raashii Khanna and Nithya Menen have been cast as the female stars in the film, according to the makers. In this film, Dhanush will romance two girls. Priya Bhavani Shankar, Bharathiraja, and Prakash Raj also star in the film. Thiruchitrambalam’s music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Apart from D44, Dhanush’s upcoming projects include Maaran, The Gray Man, Atrangi Re, a film with Selvaraghavan, and Sekhar Kammula’s next.
