Thalapathy Vijay has been riding high on the success of his recently released film Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Vijay had been shooting for Thalapathy 65 with director Nelson Dilipkumar just before the lockdown. Now the details of Thalapathy 66 are confirmed after multiple speculations!
Known for Thozha and Oopiri, National award winning Director Vamsi Paidipally confirmed to Telugu media that he will be directing Vijay in a Tamil and Telugu bilingual. The film is slated to be a pan-South India film and will be bankrolled by Dil Raju who’s riding high on success of Vakeel Saab starring Pawan Kalyan.
The film is apparently going to be a big budget action-thriller! Vamsi also told that an official announcement regarding the film will be made after the lockdown. It’s expected to go on floors in the first quarter of 2022.
As soon as the news came out and became viral, #Thalapathy66 started trending on Twitter.
“Things are moving at a quick pace for Dil Raju as the filmmaker is arranging meetings of Vijay with top directors from Telugu industry. Of all the ideas that Vijay has heard so far, he has liked the one developed by Vamshi Paidipally the most. The National Award-Winning filmmaker has narrated an action-packed thriller with social elements in it to Vijay,” revealed a source to Pinkvilla.
Soon after the news went viral, Vijay’s ardent fans started trending #Thalapathy66 on Twitter with thousands of them posting about the film.
“More narrations will take place in the next few weeks and makers will make an official announcement once the final draft is locked. The meetings so far suggest that the Vamshi film with Vijay is definitely happening. Dil Raju and his team are expecting to take the Vijay film on floors in the first quarter of 2022, around the month of March,” the source added.
Speculations are that Thalapathy has been offered a humongous remuneration of Rs 90 crore for his Tollywood debut film. Not just that, it is also rumoured that the total budget of the film might sum up to Rs 170 crore, 50% of which is the remuneration to the actor.
