Story:

Ginny Weds Sunny is a story based on two West Delhi families. Ginny and Sunny is played by Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey. The story revolves around these families and especially Ginny Sunny. Both of there parents wants there children to get married.

Ginny, an insurance professional in Delhi keeps hanging out with her ex-boyfriend Nishant Rathee aka Suhail Nayyar. While Sunny wants to get married in order to open a restaurant as his father has agreed to finance it on condition that he marry first.

Here enters Ginny’s mother who helps Sunny to make Ginny fall in love with him. Eventually, Ginny starts liking Sunny but she is confused since Nishant remains in her peripheral vision. Hence the story goes on with a typical Bollywood drama style.

Direction:

Puneet Khanna had tried putting all his efforts but failed to make us believe in the characters. The over all direction was poor. We have seen typical West Delhi punjabi families in many films but in this case, the cast was not used as it could be. A total thumbs down for Puneet Khanna for not taking out the best from such an amazing cast.

I would like to credit writers Navjot Gulati and Sumit Arora for putting some sensible dialogues and puns, some of them were really funny. But they failed to take us to the depth of these lines.

Performance:

When you have Ayesha Raza Mishra, Rajiv Gupta, Yami Gautam, Vikrant Massey, Suhail Nayya on the list you expect to have an explosion. But this was a total disaster, I feel sorry for the cast as they tried to pull the film on their shoulders but with poor direction and writing, cast can not handle it on their own.

Vikrant Massey is growing with every other performance, his last Netflix release Cargo was high appreciated for his performance. However, it seems Vikrant was not in the mood for this film and his character seemed off track.

Apart from looking beautiful, Yami Gautam didn’t do much in the film. After her last year’s release Bala, the expectations were realy high in this film, but unfortunately she failed to impress.

Music:

Over all songs are decent, I am happy to get another wedding song in the list this wedding season. Music directors Payal Dev, Jaan Nissar Lone did a decent job.

Verdict:

If you are board AF and want to sleep watch a film, this can be an option, but this is not the film you would like to spend money for. So if you are also watching it on udhari ka Netflix than you can go a head.
