Massy comedies have done tremendous business lately. ‘Housefull 4’ and ‘Total Dhamaal’ exceeded expectations at box office. The multi starrer ‘Pagalpanti’ released last week.
Pagalpanti didn’t have great pre release buzz and not a single song became chartbuster. Film was a wide release across 2800 screens. But film opened to dismal numbers in morning though it did improve in evening but it was far from good.
Film struggled against Hollywood film ‘Frozen 2’ and at premium multiplexes it was behind that film. The movie collected 5.10 cr nett on day one which is below par considering cost and cast. Film collected 6.30 cr nett which was slim growth of 20% but it needed minimum 60-70% growth. Movie collected 8.35 cr nett on Sunday with decent growth.
It has weekend total of 19.75 cr nett. Film was expected to drop and it dropped big on Monday as it collected 2.50 cr nett. Film added 2.15 cr nett on Tuesday, 1.90 cr nett on Wednesday and 1.65 cr nett on Thursday.
The movie has 1st week total of 27.95 cr nett. Film added 65 lacs nett on 2nd Friday, 90 lacs nett on Saturday and 1.25 cr nett on Sunday. Film collected 2.90 cr nett over 2nd Weekend.
Pagalpanti has a total of 30.85 cr nett and is a big flop as it will struggle to cross even 35 cr nett lifetime which is too bad considering it’s high cost.
