Year-Ender Special: A Look At Top Hindi Films Critically Acclaimed In 2022

The top Hindi films which were critically acclaimed in 2022: Badhaai Do, The Kashmir Files, Anek, Action Hero

As 2022 ends in a few days, there were numerous Hindi films released. Some had to face boycott calls, while others were successful due to their marketing and content. Indeed, social media played a huge role in impacting the performance at the box-office.

Following are the top Hindi films which were critically acclaimed in 2022:

  • Badhaai Do 

Released in February, the movie stars Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Sheeba Chadha, Chum Darang. The drama movie is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni and is reportedly made with a budget of Rs 35 cr. It streams on Netflix.

  • An Action Hero 

Directed by Anirudh Iyer, An Action Hero, stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat as lead roles. It was released in theatres on December 2. Ayushmann was seen posing with a gun and seems rough and uneven in its recent poster. Nora Fatehi and Malaika Arora are in its two songs. Kaushal Shah has worked on its cinematography.

  • The Kashmir Files 

Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film stars Pallavi Joshi, Bhasha Sumbli, Darshan Kumar, Anupam Kher. The drama/historical film released in March is streaming on Zee5. It was reportedly made with a budget of Rs 15-20 cr and earned Rs 340.92 cr at the Box-office.

  • Anek 

Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the action-thriller stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Andreakevichusa, Deeplina Deka and others. It was made with a budget of 47 cr. Mukesh Chhabra is the casting  director. Ewan Mulligan has worked on its cinematography.

  • Gangubai Kathiawadi

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the movie stars Alia Bhatt, Shantanu Maheshwari,  Varun Kapoor, Huma Quershi, Ajay Devgn. It was released in February and made with a budget of Rs 100-160 cr. The drama-crime movie is distributed by Pen India limited.
