After Gully Boy, expectations for Chaturvedi skyrocketed. His first lead role came in Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) under the prestigious Yash Raj Films banner. Many believed this would establish him as a Bollywood hero. Unfortunately, the film flopped, with critics calling out its weak script and lack of energy. Chaturvedi’s performance wasn’t enough to save it.
He then tried his luck on OTT with Gehraiyaan (2022), starring alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday. The film, which focused on modern relationships, failed to impress viewers. While Chaturvedi showed glimpses of his acting talent, the underwhelming storyline left little impact.
The trend continued with Phone Bhoot (2022), a horror-comedy featuring Katrina Kaif and Ishaan Khatter. The film missed the mark on both comedy and horror, becoming another box office failure for Chaturvedi.

What sets Chaturvedi apart is the big names supporting him. Yash Raj Films, Dharma Productions, and Excel Entertainment have all trusted him with significant roles. Yet, none of these collaborations have worked out. Even Yudhra (2023), an action-packed film by Farhan Akhtar, failed to attract audiences.
Now, he has two upcoming projects: Dhadak 2 with Triptii Dimri and Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling featuring Wamiqa Gabbi and Jaya Bachchan. However, with a string of flops behind him, the stakes for these films are incredibly high.

Bollywood thrives on box office numbers, and charm can only take an actor so far. While Chaturvedi’s raw talent is undeniable, his consistent lack of hits is raising questions about his longevity in the industry.
