Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Aakhiri Sawal collected Rs 1.70 crore nett over its opening weekend and closed its first week at just Rs 2.37 crore nett in India. The film failed to recover even its P&A costs, making its theatrical economics extremely poor.
The trend is equally worrying. After showing limited traction over the weekend, the film could not hold through the weekdays, which is usually the make-or-break period for mid-budget and issue-based Hindi films. With week one ending below Rs 2.40 crore nett, the Sanjay Dutt starrer is now heading for a lifetime total under Rs 3 crore nett.
