Ayushmann Khurrana’s return to the cheeky marital comedy zone has not found the theatrical love it needed. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, which arrived in cinemas on May 15, 2026, has ended its first week at Rs 33.75 crore nett in India, putting the film on course for a poor lifetime total below Rs 50 crore nett.
The weekday trend sealed the verdict. After a modest weekend, the film failed to show the stability expected from a family comedy carrying a known franchise title and an ensemble led by Ayushmann Khurrana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh.
Week One Box Office Trend
Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do collected Rs 4.38 crore nett on day one, followed by Rs 6.67 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.06 crore on Sunday. The weekend gave the film a narrow window to recover, but Monday brought the expected crash with Rs 3.67 crore.
The film added Rs 4.41 crore on Tuesday, Rs 3.16 crore on Wednesday and Rs 2.90 crore on Thursday. The day-wise movement underlined the damage caused by poor reviews and mixed audience word of mouth, with the film losing momentum just when it needed a strong hold.

The bigger problem was the genre itself. The familiar infidelity comedy template, built around suspicion, confusion and domestic chaos, did not feel fresh enough for audiences this time. What worked in earlier iterations of the space did not translate into sustained footfalls for this sequel.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Cast And Story
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a Hindi romantic comedy written and directed by Mudassar Aziz. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Renu Ravi Chopra and Krishan Kumar, with T-Series Films and B. R. Studios backing it. The cast includes Ayushmann Khurrana as Prajapati Pandey, along with Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Durgesh Kumar and Deepika Amin.
Set in Prayagraj, the film follows a seemingly settled marriage that spirals into suspicion, misunderstandings and comic confusion after one decision disrupts the domestic balance. Despite franchise recall and a crowded ensemble, the theatrical response has been underwhelming.
Ayushmann Khurrana’s Recent And Upcoming Work
For Ayushmann Khurrana, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do marks another setback in a mixed post-pandemic run. His recent theatrical releases included Anek in 2022, Doctor G in 2022 and An Action Hero in 2022, all of which underperformed at the box office. He bounced back with Dream Girl 2 in 2023, which emerged as a hit with Rs 104.90 crore nett in India.
He followed it with Thamma in 2025, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, which collected Rs 124.16 crore nett and was classified as an average performer. After Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Ayushmann has two confirmed theatrical films ahead in 2026: Udta Teer, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, and Sooraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya, co-starring Sharvari.
