
Vijay’s Master is undoubtedly a hit at the box office and the film has given the theatre owners a boost after facing huge losses due to the pandemic.
The film released on January 13, and collected 1.21 crore at the box office in Chennai. Now on the 6th day, the film has grossed over Rs 150 crores globally and fans are celebrating the milestone.
Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master released in over 550 screens in Tamil Nadu and more than 880 screens in other parts of South India after waiting for a year due to Covid-19 outbreak.
According to trade analyst, the film has collected over Rs 150 crores globally which becoming the highest-grossing movie on the opening weekend.
It’s a huge achievement considering that the film released in theatres across the country with just 50 per cent occupancy.
Master also features Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj in the lead roles.
