Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani starrer Ek Villain Returns was expected to do some sort of business at the box office and break the dry spell at the box office. That’s what film has done as the film opened to good numbers of 7.05 cr nett in domestic market and then managed to register slim growth despite mixed reviews.
These mass films are generally critic-proof and that is why film collected 7.47 cr nett on Saturday with a 6% growth from Friday.
Ek Villain Returns again grew well on Sunday with 9.02 cr nett number and thus finished the weekend with 23.54 cr nett which is a fairly good result for the film.
As expected, film dropped on Monday and kind of drop big by more than 50%. Film should collect close to 3.02 cr nett on Monday. Film has 4- day total of 26.56 cr nett roughly and can still cross 33 cr nett week one.
Still if it can hold on Tuesday then it can reach decent week one total and that’s crucial because it has one more open week.
The film sprung a real surprise in the overseas market and collected 345k $ on Friday itself which was amazingly good. The film collected 600k $ plus over the weekend and should cross 1 million $ by end of week one if not by Wednesday.
Starring an ensemble cast including John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria, Ek Villain Returns released worldwide on 29th July 2022. The movie is directed by Mohit Suri and jointly produced by T-Series and Balaji Telefilms.
