Bunty Aur Babli 2, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji, opened to a lukewarm response from the audience. The film’s box office prospects were severely harmed by the negative reviews it received, whereas the preceding release, Sooryavanshi, did extremely well. Bunty Aur Babli 2, the sequel to Bunty Aur Babli, has just barely managed to stay afloat in the global market following its debut weekend.
In fact, Bunty Aur Babli 2 has only made 1.02 million AED [Rs. 2.06 crore] in the UAE’s overseas territory. In the same market, the Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi, which just completed its third weekend, earned 410,369 AED [Rs. 0.84 crore]. Bunty Aur Babli 2’s low box office performance has been ascribed to the film’s scathing reviews and poor word of mouth.
The film is a sequel of 2005 released Bunty Aur Babli starring Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan. Sharvari Wagh made her Bollywood debut with this film. After films like ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’ Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji have reunited for this film as the original Bunty Aur Babli.
