Following the second lockdown, Venom – Let There Be Carnage has surpassed Shang Chi And The Legend Of Rings as the top Hollywood opener. The film does not perform as well in the South as Shang Chi, particularly in Tamil Nadu, but it does well beyond the South, particularly in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Fans have showered their love to their favourite anti-hero and become the most preferred film this festive season. Sony Pictures Entertainment India’s ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ has garnered an opening of Rs. 3.71 crores (GBOC) on its Day 1.

Hollywood films have been doing well thanks to 3D and Imax screenings, but the morning opening has been lacking for all major films since Tenet last year. With the next day being a holiday, Venom enjoyed the luxury of nighttime shows. This marks a successful opening for any film post the opening of theatres in the country. With Dussehra and the long weekend, the film is expected to have solid weekend.

‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ releases in Maharshtra on October 22.
