Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui have been released today and it has started slow on day one morning which was expected. The film opened to 15% occupancy today but the film was only strong in Delhi/Punjab and was super slow all over.
Today, the first urban film was released post lockdown and it opened to mixed reviews as the film had very bold subject which can be tough to digest for massy and family audience.
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opened on a below-par 10-15% occupancy in the morning and throughout the day it remained more or less flat. The film was good in north India which was expected but was below-par in the rest of the country.
As per early estimates, the film should collect 3.75 cr nett on day one which is below last week’s release Tadap which had a relatively new cast.
Now it’s up to the audience to accept a new bold subject or reject it outrightly. Going by trend and advances, it will grow by 30-40% tomorrow but it needs bigger jumps in the region of 75% or so in order to come out as a success.
Hit machine Ayushmann has an uphill task going forward!
