Major was released following huge buzz generated via preview shows starting as long as 10 days before. The film also got pretty decent reviews. It started very slow on Friday and never really grew big considering the low starting points.
The film collected 1.10 cr nett on Friday and grew by 40% to collect 1.51 cr nett on Saturday followed by 30% growth on Sunday with a number of 2.05 cr net. The film has collected 4.66 cr nett over the weekend and should drop on weekdays.
The film will struggle to cross 10 cr nett lifetime which is a poor result considering the hype, promotion and reviews. The film is a success in the local market with 18 cr approx number and success overseas with 1 million dollars in the USA alone.
Sashi Kiran Tikka directed Major, and Adivi Sesh wrote the screenplay. Sesh, Saiee Manjrekar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma play significant parts in the film. Sony Pictures International Productions, G Mahesh Babu Entertainment, and A+S Movies are collaborating on the project. Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam versions of the film have been released.
