Honsla Rakh had a fantastic first three days, grossing about 7.7 crore nett, easily the biggest post pandemic weekend for a Punjabi film and the third highest weekend ever for a Punjabi film. This comes with restrictions, and if they weren’t, you could add another 1 crore nett to the film for the weekend, putting it up against the largest openers of all time, Shadaa and Carry On Jatta 2.
East Punjab has done well, but it is in Delhi/UP where the film has done exceptionally well, grossing 1.86 crore nett in the circuit, which is unheard of for a Punjabi film. The city of Delhi has collected 1.40 crore nett, and this three-day total is comparable to Bell Bottom’s four-day total.
Honsla Rakh has not only performed well in India, but also overseas, where the weekend box office may probably be in the $1.1-$1.2 million level, implying a worldwide gross of around Rs. 17-18 crore. Honsla Rakh’s nett collections in India to date are as follows:
Day 1, Friday: 2.55 cr
Day 2, Saturday: 2.30 cr
Day 3, Sunday: 2.80 cr
Total: 7.65 cr nett
Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa, and Shehnaaz Gill play in the key roles of Honsla Rakh. Shinda Grewal, Gippy Grewal’s son also stars in the film. They shot the film early this year in Canada.
