
After facing a disappointing response in the first week the New Mutants has managed to gather some good numbers in the second week.
The film, which is a spin-off of X-Men, gathered $8.75 million in the US in the first week. The footfall increased on Labor Day weekend and did better than it was expected to do. Increase in the number of theatres can also be a consideration in the boost.
If The New Mutants was released in 2,412 US theatres in the first week, while now 2,754 theatres are screening the film.
The film did a business of $843k on its 2nd Friday which is almost double from its previous day. On Monday the film did a business of $663k.
As per the reports, The New Mutants has done a total business of $12.45 million by September 7 in the US.
After adding $9.04 million from international markets, the worldwide total of the film is $21.49 million so far.
