As the number of COVID-19 cases drops across the country, filmmakers are releasing their long-awaited blockbusters. The first major Bollywood film following the third wave of the pandemic is Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar’s Badhaai Do, which is due to hit theatres this Friday.
The dramedy is expected to fare well at the box office because it is a franchise film. The trailer has already received excellent feedback from the public, and with no major competition in the Hindi marketing belts, we are optimistic that it will draw crowds to the theatres.
The first day box office collection of the film will reach around 4 cr and the first weekend will end up collecting 16 cr. The lifetime business of Badhaai Ho is expected to cross 45 cr.
If the film achieves these numbers on its opening day, it will be a promising start, as strong word of mouth will help it expand over the weekend.
The film, directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, also stars Seema Pahwa and Sheeba Chaddha in pivotal parts. Amit Trivedi, Khamosh Shah, and Tanishk Bagchi composed the film’s music, which is produced under the umbrella of Junglee Pictures.
