De De Pyaar De 2 is one of the most-awaited films of 2025. The sequel to the 2019 film, De De Pyaar De, the rom-com released in cinemas yesterday. The music videos, trailer, and teaser have already created anticipation among fans because the plot follows an age-gap romance.
De De Pyaar De 2 Manages To Grow On Day Two
De De Pyaar De 2 collected Rs. 9.45 crore net on its first day at the Indian box office. This was, of course, a low first day, but then all things considered, it isn’t all that bad. The non-action films have found it tough to record initial post-pandemic, unless there is hit music or star value. Ajay Devgn is a big star, but doesn’t have a big initial draw, and of course, hit music was missing here. The best first-day figure for a film in this zone recently is Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, which collected Rs. 15 crore, with some holiday support, a younger star suitable to the genre, and hit music. In this context, this first day number doesn’t seem all that bad.
The main disappointment stems from the fact that the first day is 10% less than what the original did back in 2019 (10.41 crore), which isn’t ideal. One would expect a sequel to grow, at least in terms of opening, as there is the usual inflation and added recognition from the appreciation of the first film.
Film managed to grow despite average word of mouth and collected 13.77 crore net. Film has 2 – day total of 23.22 crore net and its heading for 35 crore net weekend which is still below par as this is 10% lower than weekend of first instalment (38.54 crore net) of the film six years back. Ideally 50 crore weekend was the target considering sequel factor and the cast. Film will find it tough to cross 100 crore net lifetime.

De De Pyaar De 2 passed the CBFC certificate without any cuts or edits. The film has received a U/A 13+ certificate. On the other hand, as mentioned on the censor certificate, the runtime for De De Pyaar De 2 is 147.10 minutes, aka 2 is 2 hours, 27 minutes and 10 seconds.
Notably, De De Pyaar De 2 has become the second film of November 2025, after Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s Haq, to pass the CBFC certificate with zero cuts.
