Dhamaal 4 Takes Early Overseas Lead Over Welcome To The Jungle And Cocktail 2 On Day One

A noisy overseas start is exactly what Dhamaal 4 has delivered. On its opening day, the comedy franchise surged in Australia and New Zealand with numbers that put it comfortably above Welcome to the Jungle and also past Cocktail 2, giving the film an immediate day-one talking point outside India. For a mass-market Hindi comedy, that kind of early jump in two key overseas circuits is a strong signal that the brand still has pull.

In Australia, Dhamaal 4 had collected AUD 84,000 till 9 pm, while Welcome to the Jungle stood at AUD 51,000. The gap was just as striking in New Zealand, where Dhamaal 4 posted NZD 46,000 against Welcome to the Jungle‘s NZD 21,000. The margin across both territories suggests that the film did not merely open well, it established clear breathing room from a direct competitor in the same broad commercial space.

Dhamaal 4 Sets The Pace Overseas

The comparison gets sharper with Cocktail 2 in the frame. The Homi Adajania directorial, which released on 19 June 2026, had opened to AUD 77,656 in Australia and NZD 16,190 in New Zealand on its Friday. Based on the available day-one figures, Dhamaal 4 has already crossed those numbers in both markets, adding another layer to its early overseas momentum.

That matters because these are not like-for-like films chasing the same mood. Dhamaal 4, directed by Indra Kumar, arrives as a franchise comedy built on familiarity, ensemble chaos and broad family appeal, with Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh and Jaaved Jaaferi anchoring its nostalgic pull. Welcome to the Jungle, another established comedy property led by Akshay Kumar, is also banking on franchise value and a large-scale entertainer image. Cocktail 2, by contrast, comes from the romantic comedy drama space, making Dhamaal 4‘s stronger opening in the same overseas territories even more noticeable.

Why This Early Race Stands Out

Day-one trends from Australia and New Zealand do not tell the whole global story, but they are often among the first clean indicators of how a Hindi theatrical release is landing with overseas audiences. In that first snapshot, Dhamaal 4 has clearly emerged as the strongest of the three titles under comparison.

What gives the result extra weight is the ease of the lead. This was not a narrow finish built on a single territory spike. The film posted a healthy cushion over Welcome to the Jungle in both markets and also bettered Cocktail 2‘s opening-day benchmarks there. For now, that makes Dhamaal 4 the clear early winner in this overseas day-one faceoff, and a film that has started its international run with genuine box office energy.
