Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has switched the box office conversation from opening day to opening hours. With paid preview bookings going live well over a week before the film’s March 19, 2026 release, the spy action sequel has already put up a number that most big titles chase closer to release week.
In its first 24 hours of advance sales for the paid previews, the film sold over 1.75 lakh tickets at the Indian box office, translating to close to Rs. 8 crore nett, as per trade tracking. The heat has been strongest in the big centres like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, with sales also coming in from smaller markets despite the early pre sales window and the fact that only preview shows are currently on sale.
Paid Preview Advance Nears Stree 2’s Record, With Chains Driving The Surge
The current benchmark for paid previews in Hindi cinema stands at Rs. 8.75 crore nett, set by Stree 2. With Dhurandhar: The Revenge already near Rs. 8 crore nett in a day, the film is on course to cross that figure within roughly the first 28 hours of booking, driven by a steady hourly run rate.
National chains are doing the heavy lifting so far. PVR INOX and Cinepolis together have contributed over 75 percent of the revenue, with around 1.25 lakh tickets sold through these two circuits in the first 24 hours. The film has also built a massive capacity early, with more than 6,000 shows already on sale for the paid preview day, a number that is expected to scale further as more properties open up inventory.
There is also a clear pricing play at work. The preview shows are being sold at premium rates, in many places significantly higher than standard pricing, and the demand is still holding firm. Importantly, bookings for the rest of the opening weekend have not opened at the time these early numbers were logged, as the strategy appears focused on maximising the premium paid previews first.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is written and directed by Aditya Dhar, and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar under Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film stars Ranveer Singh, with key roles played by Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Sara Arjun, among others.
The sequel continues the franchise’s spy action canvas, tracking the next phase of Ranveer’s character as the mission escalates into a more personal, vengeance fuelled chapter.
Ranveer Singh’s Recent And Upcoming Work
Ranveer was last seen leading Dhurandhar (2025), which emerged as a major blockbuster and set the stage for the sequel. Before that, he headlined Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), and made a cameo appearance as Simmba in Singham Again (2024).
On the pipeline, Ranveer opted out from Don 3 and now legal troubles with Farhan Akhtar.
