Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan released today in paid previews from 6 pm all over. Film was riding on good reviews so expected to score better but poor advance bookings affected us.
As per early trends, film should cross 2.50 crore nett in paid previews which means it needs massive jump over weekend with great reviews and exceptional word of mouth. Film has only sold 10,000 tickets for day one which is poor.

About Maidaan
Ajay would be essaying the role of Syed Abdul Rahim to tell the story of this unsung hero who was responsible for taking Indian football to new heights and winning accolades for the country. The team at that time comprised of illustrious players like Chunni Goswami, PK Banerjee, Balaram, Franco, and Arun Ghosh.
Maidaan is directed by Amit Sharma and backed by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Zee Studios. The film stars Ajay Devgn as football coach Syed Abdul Rahim and will focus on India’s golden football period between 1952–1962. Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh also appear in supporting roles. The film was initially slated to release on 23 June this year but was again postponed. However, now people are hopeful that it will finally see the light of day after multiple delays.
