Dharma Production’s ‘Selfiee’ released starring Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty, Nushrat and cameo by Mrunal Thakur. Film is directed by Raj Mehta who directed ‘Good News’ and ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’. Film opened to poor numbers on day one.
As reported by us, film had very low advance bookings though many thought it was due to late opening of advances on Thursday morning. But then day one business of the film shocked everyone .
Film opened to 8-10% occupancy and collected 2.55 cr nett on day one. Film is Akshay’s lowest opening in recent years. Film grew by 40% on day two at box office but it doesn’t help as starting number is terribly low.
As per early estimates, film should collect 3.80 cr nett on Saturday which is poor. Film has 2- day collections of 6.35 cr nett and will collect 10 cr nett over weekend.
Following is collections Saturday/ Friday in national chains for film at 11 pm:
Pvr: 90 Lacs / 64 lacs
Inox: 60 lacs / 43 lacs
Cinepolis: 36 lacs / 23 lacs
Total: 1.86 lacs / 1.30 crores
Following is the all India collections for Selfiee:
Friday: 2.55 cr
Saturday: 3.80 cr
Total: 6.35 cr nett
Film might struggle to cross 20 cr nett all India lifetime and it’s epic disaster. It will need excellent word of mouth and massive hold on Monday to avoid inevitable outcome at box office which seems impossible at the moment.
