Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek started with average reviews and had a poor Friday. It dropped on day two itself and then had a flat Sunday.
The film had a disappointing first weekend at the box office. The film failed to entice audiences to the theatres. Anubhav Sinha directed the film, which stresses the insurgency in North-East India and the need for a unified India, and it was produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks.
Now the film completely tanks on Monday with collections close to 80 lacs nett. The film will finish with collections around 9-10 cr nett lifetime.
It’s one of the biggest disasters for Ayushmann Khurrana.

Anek, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Andrea Kevichusa, is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Anubhav Sinha’s Benaras Mediaworks. The movie was shot in Northeast India. Anek, according to Ayushmann, would “usher in a different language of cinema.” Anek is Ayushmann’s second collaboration with director Anubhav, following the 2019 film Article 15.
