Mufasa: The Lion King has sold more tickets on its Christmas advances than Baby John has managed in its Day 1 advance bookings. While the latter had high expectations ahead of its release, it seems to be struggled to attract pre-sale interest compared to its competitors.
Mufasa: The Lion King, featuring the voices of Shah Rukh Khan in the Hindi version and Mahesh Babu in the Telugu version, has been doing well at Indian theatres. Despite the global box office being slightly below industry predictions, the film has exceeded expectations in India, grossing Rs 43 crore in just five days.
Varun Dhawan‘s much-awaited action thriller, Baby John, released today on Christmas Day. However, the film faced disappointing advance ticket sales followed by mixed reviews.
Baby John Heading For Double Digit On Day One, Mufasa And Pushpa 2 Lead
Baby John has crossed 5.50 crore gross on day one afternoon in national chains at 4 pm. Pushpa 2 is certain to cross 14 crore net on day 21 as it is ahead of day 1 of Baby John in national chains. Film will cross 730 crore net in Hindi. Mufasa is heading for big 15-16 crore net on day 6 emerging biggest film on Christmas holiday. It will cross 58 – 60 crore in Hindi today on day 6.
Baby John: 10-11 crore net
Mufasa: 15-16 crore net
Pushpa 2: 14 crore net
Baby John will suffer and will find it difficult to jump over the weekend. Anything less than 15 crore net on day one will be disappointing. 5 day weekend is heading for 60 – 70 crore net despite being holiday and that will be a poor result.
